What is maintenance?
A process consisting of a series of steps that helps preserve and increase the likelihood that equipment (electronic or servomotor) operates properly, extending its operating hours. This depends on several factors that must be corrected.
Factors:
- Contamination by various agents.
- Loose or stripped connections (power or control terminals).
- Poor cabinet ventilation.
- Inadequate or temporary setups/modifications.
Maintenance This process aims to increase the operating hours of equipment (electronic or motor), preventing unexpected downtime while maintaining optimal system conditions. For this purpose, it is necessary to schedule maintenance every 18P months or 24C months according to the system’s needs (for electronic units or motors).
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (ELECTRONICS)
- Full unit decontamination (control and power sections).
- Baking of PCBs (printed circuit boards) and metal parts.
- Detailed cleaning of fans and heat sinks, removing any obstructions to airflow or exhaust.
- Replacement of electrolytic capacitors across the entire unit (SMD and through-hole).
- Correction of cold solder joints.
- Application of dielectric conformal coating/varnish to circuit boards.
CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE (ELECTRONICS)
- Includes all preventive maintenance steps.
- Replacement of optocouplers for power activation and control signals.
- Fan bearing replacement, feedback signal verification, and evaluation for fan replacement if necessary.
- 3D-printed fabrication of replacement plastic parts to maintain equipment integrity (covers, harnesses, brackets, and fasteners).
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (MOTORS)
- Decontamination of windings and general mechanical parts.
- Bearing replacement according to customer specifications.
- Replacement of oil seals, O-rings, and gaskets (if applicable).
- Functional verification of feedback signals.
- Mechanical inspection of bearing seat tolerances on end bells/covers and shaft.
- Electrical testing of windings (dielectric strength, resistance, and inductance measurements).
- Correction of loose or faulty wiring connections in either feedback or power supply lines.
- Mechanical calibration of the magnetic brake (if equipped).
- General repainting, preserving original equipment appearance.
CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE (MOTORS)
Replacement of damaged spare parts such as connectors, damaged hardware/fasteners, and worn power or control pins.
Includes all preventive maintenance steps.
Execution of mechanical repairs required to fix issues that could compromise equipment operation (shaft, covers, or terminal box).
